Barbara’s Garden Studio:

Barbara’s Garden Studio combines the function and efficiency of a garden shed with the appeal of a granite “foundation,” clapboard siding, a cedar shingle roof, and small-paned windows.

The front portion of Barbara’s Garden Studio accommodates hanging tools and shelves for garden accessories, with additional storage overhead. The rear portion serves as a private and peaceful writing and painting studio for the owner, with enough room for afternoon tea with a guest.

This garden studio measures 6'-8" by 12'-0". It is built with a plywood floor over joists anchored to 6 x 6 skids. The skids allow the structure to be built near a workshop, then dragged into position. The skids are hidden by flat granite stones, laid up to simulate a foundation after the building is positioned and leveled.
